WOMAN FOUND DEAD AT A GALAMSEY SITE

A young woman has been found dead at a galamsey site at Wasa Gyapa, a town in the Amenfi East municipality in the western region.  Miriam shortened by her neighbors as “Maley” on Sunday, told her husband she was going to work and would return in the evening.  As a loving and caring husband, when he noticed his wife hadn’t come home late in the night he started looking for her from one site to the other. He went on to do announcements at a town called wasa Domebra which is closer to the site where his wife went to work. A young man whose identity is not known yet took the man to the scene where the incidence happened. According to him , he said “ this morning we passed by to work and we saw her items beside the pit. One of my workers decided to take them and put at a proper place thinking the owner had forgotten. I told him to stop because if the owner comes and it’s not there she would think it has been stolen. GUTA LOCKS UP 38 RETAIL SHOPS BELONGING TO FOREIGNERS

The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) in the Eastern region has carried out enforcement exercise to close down over 38 mobile Phones retail shops belonging to foreigners in Koforidua. The Eastern Regional Vice Chairman of GUTA, Samuel Aikins who spoke to Afeema News on Wednesday said, their action stems from government’s failure to fully enforce the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre’s Act (Act 865) section 27 which bars foreigners from operating in the country’s retail space. Mr. Aikins in an interview with Kaakyire Kwasi Afari of Afeema FM, he said, the failure by authorities to enforce compliance of the G I P C law is now having numerous adverse effects on the Ghanian economy, emphasizing high inflation, rapid depreciation of the Cedi, collapsing the manufacturing sector, high cost of shops crumbling down the export sector, among others. According to the frustrated residents, this is just a repetition of what happened in 1985 when a pregnant woman was killed. The assembly member of Anyaa West electoral area in the Greater Accra region (Hon. Michael Acquah) has this morning held a press conference at his office.  During the press conference; Hon. Michael Acquah said there are so many social vices ongoing in his electoral area. He said; some notorious guys were attacking the market women at dawn but he set up a watchdog committee to curb that issue. He added that his worry recently is the stealing of prepaid meters in his electoral area. Though have reported it to the Electricity company of Ghana ( ECG) and also the Ghana police service but this bad act is still ongoing. MAN LYNCHED AFTER BUTCHERING CONCUBINE TO DEATH

A man who was only identified as *Efo*, 42-years has been lynched by some angry youth after he butchered his 39 year concubine, Sister Ataa. This incident happened yesterday at Nweneso No.3 in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region. According to the report the deceased, Efo had accused Ataa of cheating on him and had tried several means of deleting her from the earth surface but they all came to no avail until yesterday when he confronted Ataa at farming site and butchered her to death. The report confirmed that the bodies of both have been conveyed by the Fuase Police to the Toase Morgue pending autopsy. A MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED STEALING TWO CHILDREN AT NEW EDUBIASE
