EASTERN REGIONAL COUNCIL OF ZONGO CHIEF'S 'AMAMREHENE' DESTROYED.

The Eastern Regional Council of Zongo Chiefs has destooled Mr. Shisu Iddi as the Amamrehene for disregarding the Council's Great Oath.

The Amamrehene [Costom/Tradition] Chief, Shisu Iddi was also accused of showing gross disrespect against the president of the Eastern and Akyem Abuakwa Council of Zongo Chiefs and his elders at large.

Chief Alhaji Abubakar Umar, the president of the Council addressed the media at Kyebi over the weekends at the forth quarter meeting of the Council of Chiefs to caution Muslim communities and residents in Zongo areas to be wary of engaging the service of Shisu Iddi.

Alhaji Abubakar Umar who doubles as the National vice president of the Council of Zongo Chiefs again warned that Muslims and all those who will patronize the former Tradition Chief do so at their own risk.

Shisu Iddi was among other things, destooled for raining abusive and unprintable words against the executive members, a situation the Zongo Council treats as ‘disrespectful,” which undermines his stool, the powers and the integrity of the Eastern regional council of Zongo Chiefs.

The president of the Council used the opportunity to counsel all the Zongo Chiefs in the Eastern region to see the sanctions as deterrent, to be afraid, chary, and respectful when dealing with the powers of the council as a chief.

In other development, the Akyem Abuakwa Council Of Zongo Chiefs in collaboration with the Eastern regional Council of Zongo Chiefs will celebrate the 35th Chieftaincy Anniversary of their president, Alhaji Abubakar Umar on the 7th to 9th December this year at Kibi Astroturf in the Eastern region.

The anniversary is on the theme "Transforming Zongo Communities Through Education and Youth Empowerment".

It's aimed at raising fund to support their Educational Fund to create social amenities, Islamic schools, and to encourage Christian and Muslim business owners.

Alhaji Abubakar Umar told Journalists that the Educational Fund has emphasized funding for education for all people as part of the Council’s larger objective to increase educational possibilities for Muslims.
